National Physicians week (March 25-31, 2023) sets out to honor the healers dedicated to the art of medicine. I can’t think of a more appropriate time to honor Dr. Stanley Kanow’s retirement. Today, we say farewell to a great healer who dedicated his career to helping families and children grow and thrive.
Dear patients, families, and friends,
It is with mixed emotions I write this letter to you as I begin my retirement. I began in this practice 47 years ago as a new physician and pediatrician. Thru the years I learned so much about pediatrics and being a caring person. Watching your children grow up and prosper has been a great reward. I want to thank all of you for allowing me into your families and in many cases several generations.
I also want to thank my partners, physicians, and staff. Without their help and dedication this wouldn’t be possible. My wife Carolyn and son Mark have also been so supportive.
As to my post retirement life, I will remain in Orange County. I have my annual two-week fishing trip starting April 1st. When I return, I want to start working on my garden. I grew up on a farm until the second grade in Compton (yes that Compton). I also enjoy cooking and will work on expanding my repertoire.
I wish you all the best. I know I am leaving you in good care with the doctors and staff of Orange Doctors of Kids and Teens (AKA Doctors of Children).
Always,
Stanley Kanow
